Mission

The mission of Costello Housing Solutions, Inc. (CHS) is to enhance the well-being and fulfill the unmet requirements of marginalized and disadvantaged individuals, with a particular focus on Transitional Age Youth (TAY). Our commitment is to elevate their quality of life and provide the support they need to thrive.

Costello Housing Solutions, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) community based organization dedicated to serving TAY who are transitioning out of foster care. Our primary goal is to improve the life trajectories of homeless TAY with mental health disorders by providing them with a supportive services and programs.

The CHS Wellness Program is designed to span a duration of 6 to 24 months, catering to TAY between the ages of 18 and 24. Participants in the program are either enrolled in college or engaged in our apprenticeship program. By focusing on emotional and behavioral health, we aim to help these young individuals reach their full potential and assume adult roles and responsibilities, leading fulfilling and productive lives.

Our program specifically targets young adults who have serious emotional disturbances (SED), including those with intellectual developmental disabilities. We recognize the importance of providing life skills training and guidance to TAY during their enrollment at CHS, which will empower them not only during their time with us but also in their future endeavors.

By offering guidance, CHS aims to reduce the chances of homelessness among TAY, increase their access to education, and minimize the likelihood of them becoming parents before they are ready. We believe that stable mentorship plays a crucial role in enabling young people to access necessary healthcare and social services, ultimately contributing to their physical and mental well-being.

Through our program, TAY become acquainted with the essential elements required to become productive members of society and develop independence. This process fosters their confidence and instills a sense of belonging to a supportive network of caring adults.

At CHS, we provide education, training, safety, and wellness support where TAY can feel secure as they navigate their way into society. Our aim is to facilitate a successful transition through transformation, enabling these young individuals to build a brighter future for themselves.
